Hunting License Fees 2012

General License

Due to the passage of citizens initiative I-161 on November 2nd 2010, the guaranteed outfitter sponsored license is no longer available in Montana. All licenses issued in 2011 were on a random draw. However, the non-resident combination license(elk/deer/fishing) had a 100% success rate in the draw and there was around 800 licenses still available through the fall hunting season. For the 2012 season, I anticipate a 100% success rate for the combination license as well, providing your application is submitted prior to the March 15th deadline.

Montana also has a new preference point system that allows 75% of the licenses to go to the applicants with the highest amount of preference points. Give me a call and I can help you through the application process.

Combination (Elk, Deer) $944
Elk Only $794
Deer Only $561

Reservation / Deposit

The beauty and comfort of a traveling camp! When booking within 12 months of your adventure vacation pack trip, we require a 1/3 deposit to confirm your reservation. For hunts booked more than a year in advance, a $600 deposit will hold your big game hunt until May 1st, by then you will have received your license from the state, at that time the remainder of the deposit will be due. For big game hunting trips, the license applications become available in mid January and the license application deadline in March 15th. The balance is due prior to the start of the trip (day of departure at the latest). In the event of cancellation, the deposit is not refundable. However, we will make every attempt to fill the open dates with another reservation, in which case we will refund your deposit in full.

Hunting Schedule:

For the Scapegoat Mountains camps (Meadow Creek and Camp Creek) the schedule provides for 7 day hunts where we have a maximum of 6 people per camp per hunt in Meadow Creek and 4 people per camp per hunt in Camp Creek. The primary focus in these camps is elk hunting with mule deer hunting also available.

Our back country "trucks"! The crews best friend! For the Mountain Goat hunt we only operate the hunt if one of our hunters draws a mountain goat tag. We schedule only one 7 day hunt in area 323 in early November and the hunt in area 280 is conducted early to mid October.

For the Deer Creek Mountains camp, the schedule provides for 4 day hunts where we have a maximum of 5 people per hunt. The primary focus in this camp has been mule deer hunting, however since the Derby Mtn. fire of 2006, our elk hunting has been excellent as well, so a combination harvest is possible.

We are currently taking bookings for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons, as a lot of hunts are already booked and we are getting a lot of calls. The schedule and openings for 2012, 2013 and 2014 are identified in the following schedule.
